Legal and Risk Management Affairs Unit
The Legal and Risk Management Affairs Unit provides the Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority with strategic legal and legislative advice both inside and outside the UAE on particular issues of special nature.
The team conducts impact assessment studies and research on legal issues requested by the Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority. It is also involved in managing legal aspects of projects undertaken by the different working units of the EAA, as well as other projects in which the EAA is involved.
Part of the Unit’s mandate is governance, compliance, internal audit and risk management of the EAA’s operations and projects under its auspices.
The Legal and Risk Management Affairs Unit has a close working relationship with various government entities, with whom it collaborates on the design and legal planning of strategic projects as well as on structuring the legal framework for their implementation.
The Legal and Risk Management Affairs Unit's key functions include:
- Providing comprehensive advice and support to the Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority
- Preparing policy papers and legal impact assessment of proposed policies and programs
- Leading legal reform initiatives
- Preparing assessment studies and legal projections for multi-faceted projects with regional and international dimensions
- Providing legal consultations to other government entities to ensure unified legal standards and measures
- Advising on identifying strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risks and mitigation plans
- Managing governance and compliance functions for the EAA and its projects
